finger numbers
6. It is easy to see that if you have a three-note pattern of adjacent keys to play, you have three different finger groups from which to choose (adjacent keys are generally played by adjacent fingers).

RH:     1 2 3    (or 3 2 1);   2 3 4    (or 4 3 2);   3 4 5    (or 5 4 3)

LH:      3 2 1    (or 1 2 3);   etc.
